ARC POETRY MAGAZINE: 2016 ANNUAL THEMED ISSUE

ART IN THE END TIMES

Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.”

— The New Testament, Luke 21: 10-11

This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

— T.S. Eliot. The Hollow Men

Arc Poetry Magazine wants to know: what’s the point of poetry in the End Times? When the apocalypse comes will you curl up with your hardcover Selecteds or compost poems to grow something really useful, like spaghetti squash?

Send us your elegies for The End, odes to better times, poetry that scalds, or poetry that comforts, poems on the political apocalypse and the personal catastrophe. (The latter need to make us want to outlive the apocalypse, okay?) Make us believe there’s a point to poetry in today’s precarious political world.

However you interpret the apocalypse and the role of art in the end times, we want to hear from you. Poetry can be submitted via Submittable, using the “Art in the End Times” category. For features, essays or reviews, query first please – queries can be sent to Coordinating Editor, Chris Johnson: coordinatingeditor@เล่นสล็อตฟรีในเว็บไซต์ www.morningtillnoon.com

Your personal End Time for this call: June 1st. Don’t miss the apocalypse!
